Today was a long day...I had to work...while feeling miserably sick. I've had some form of this cold since before Christmas and I'm ready for it to be gone! After work I picked up the kids, got them down for naps and quiet time and then continued with my work that I had not completed this morning. Then after naps and quite time I went out to check the mail. There was a bank statement and 1 other envelope. Upon looking at the envelope and after noting that the address and return address was typewritten I realize we had received a letter from Uncle Robert. In all my curiosity I rapidly opened up the envelope to find inside a wonderfully typewritten note from Robert to us! It was long, thoughtful letter that made me realize just how blessed we are! It was a wonderful pick me up from today's events.

After reading the letter I put it back into the mangled envelope and tried to make it look presentable and left it on the table for Conor. When he got home I told him that there was a letter from Robert on the table. My photo for today is of Conor reading it!

Just a little blurb about todays photo. I have this orchid that I received as a thank you gift way back in September 2011. I was so afraid to bring it home in the car from Fresno because it's a super fragile flower. It survived the long drive! I read the little card that came with the flower on how to take care of it and made sure to follow the directions precisely! I've heard orchids are super hard to keep alive. It has now bloomed about 8 times and I love it! It feels so great to know that I can keep a flower alive! LOL

Well I've decided to start blogging again. It's been on my mind the past month or so that I should really get back into it! It's such a convenient way to document our everyday happenings, little things, family memories, and miscellaneous stuff.

So here I am starting of 2012 with another attempt at Project 365 and One Little Word.

I recently discovered One Little Word thru Scrap Orchard and decided to play along. Basically you pick one word for the year and try and focus your life on it. You keep that word in your mind daily, reflect on it daily, scrap about it, journal about it and try and focus your life on that one little word. My word for 2012 is blessed. I cannot wait to see where 2012 takes me and look forward to discovering all the little blessings that are to come.

And then there's Project 365 which I've attempted several times in the past. I'm going to try and be good and take one photo daily, whether it's using my Nikon, my little point and shoot that's in my purse or my cell phone. I've got lots of little reminders around the house and on the internet to hopefully remind to take my picture.

Here's to a new month and a new year. The calendar is pretty blank right now with just a few birthdays, a few appointments and some regular monthly activities. However, I know January is going to be a busy month and I cannot wait to see what it has in store for us.

Yeah I know it’s been awhile….what, 5 months or so? Well I know it’s no excuse but live is just busy! I won’t go into details and bore you on what the last 5 month have been filled with.
Life is great for us Lemmons. We moved into a bigger house which was needed! Dylan and Katelyn both have their own rooms finally! We also have a dining room! We love to sit down for dinner, let Kate pray for us, and then enjoy a meal as a family. Our new house is also close to my parents so it’s been fun having them stop over for a quick visit or dinner.
Kate started preschool this past year and is loving it. She comes home sharing something new every week! She is also in gymnastics and loves that. Her two favorite teachers are Hannah and Shannon.
Dylan has recently learned how to walk, at 15 months (just like Katelyn did). Once he learned how to walk all he does is follow Katelyn around just wanting to be near and around her. He also loves to climb on everything and anything he can. As he is becoming more active I’m beginning to see the differences between boys and girls!
Conor and I are about to celebrate our 8 year wedding anniversary. I can’t believe it’s almost been 8 years! It has seriously flown by and I can’t wait to see what is in store for us in the coming years.
I’m still enjoying digital scrapbooking. I’ve updated the sidebar with my Creative Teams. I’m on 7, the most I’ve ever been on and I love it!! I’m CT’ing for all the designers that I LOVE!

Kate has about 40+ little people toys. She absolutely loves them all and plays with them all the time. While she plays with the she tells us who each one of them are. After discovering that most of their names are family members I decided to take a 'family portrait'.

My apologies to...........Uncle Robert, Daddy, and Uncle Aaron! Kate apparently didn't consider gender when naming her peoples. And Auntie Jennie I'm sorry she thinks you're a clown??!! Strange for sure!

Meeting Rach (and her family)

What an AWESOME weekend we just had! We got to head down to Sacramento and meet my partner in scrap, Rachel. We also got to spend time with Uncle Robert and Aunt Laurie at their house in Galt.We left Friday after Conor got off work and the kids did amazing. Here's everyone on the ride down.

We got to Sacramento around 10 pm and got a tour of Robert and Laurie's house and got to see Charlie and Marcel again! We then got the beds set up and kids to sleep; and we followed soon after.
We woke up to the sound of Charlie barking once. He was baring at Kate who managed to climb out of the pack n play and make her way into the living room. I think she may have scared Charlie. We then got dressed and ready for the day and began our 1.5 hour drive to Vallejo and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. After blowing past the exit for Six Flags I just happened to take the next exit and which took me to Fairground Street which was the street SF was on. So we ventured down the street and sure enough found our way to the entrance. After paying for parking and navigating our way through we found a spot and got the stroller all filled with goodies, including the kids. Then I got a call.....it was Rach and she was in the parking lot between C & D just like we were. OMG....the time has come....it's time to finally meet Rach! WOOT! After a long overdue hug we were on our way to a fun filled day at Six Flags.
Once inside Rach needed to quickly grab a stroller......well it ended up being not so quick so we watched a few little shows they had going on at the front entrance and took some pictures.

After Rach practically signed her life away to get a double stroller we were on our way. But first we took some photos by the dolphin fountain.

First up we got to feed the sea lions. Unfortunately Kate's fish got eaten by a pesky sea gull! We then went and ate some lunch and watched the penguins swim around.

We then got to pet some stingrays! Although Kate didn't really pet them she tried to but shied away when they'd come close!

Then we were off to see the dolphins. They had just wrapped up a little show and were playing around in their pool. They splashed around right by us-the girls loved it!

And while Rach and MJ went to go ride a whale ride the little girls got to play together!

Next up it was off to see Shouka the whale. Before entering the stadium we stopped off at the view level and watched her for a bit. She was excited to see the kids and there was a little dolphin there too!

Then into the stadium we went. Conor and Dylan stayed outside the stadium and watched the strollers. It was probably about 95+ degrees that day and we were ready to get soaked so we sat in the splash zone and then moved over to the super soaker section when it got closer to the show starting and they opened that section. Boy did we get soaked!!! Shouka got us gooood! And it felt great-though it was salt water!
After getting wet and doing lots of animal visits we decided it was time to ride some roller coasters! Rach, MJ and I took a ride on the cobra and then Rach and I rode the Medusa and it was AMAZING! My first roller coaster ride in over 5 years and it was the best one to go on for sure. It was thrilling! However, after not eating much breakfast, or lunch and it being so hot I immediately got sick to my stomach after we got off the ride. Unfortunately we had sent the guys away to go ride it and we had to wait for them to get back before I could really do anything about it. Once the guys got back we decided to leave the park and head to a nice air conditioned restaurant. The closest one was Applebees and off we went. Once there we ate some great food, chatted, laughed and had a nice close to a wonderful, fun filled day!

By the time we parted ways it was 8 pm and we were exhausted and had an hour and a half car ride back to Galt. But it was well worth it!
Sunday morning we slept in and then packed up and left town. A stop off at Granzellas for lunch and then it was back on the road back home.

It was a quick weekend trip but sooo worth it! It was great to finally meet Rach and her family. I'm sure we will meet up again sometime-maybe in Pennsylvania!

I've been thinking a lot lately about starting up my personal blog again. I'm not really sure what I'm going to blog about so it may be an adventure for all of us!

Let's start out with a kid update.

Kate is almost 3 years old! I can't believe my baby girl will be 3 next month. I'm not really sure where these past few years have gone but I know they have been some of the best ever!! Kate goes to Teacher Lauri's house 2 times a week and plays with her friends. She loves it there and I'm sure it's going to be difficult come September when she starts Preschool. Kate will be starting gymnastics soon, well as soon as I sign her up which I hope will be next week! She'll be doing that 2 days a week too and come September she'll be doing their ABC 123 program too! I can't wait to get her in more of a weekly routine this fall. I know she'll love it-that's her personality.

Dylan is 6 months and such a little joy. He is certainly a mamma's boy! He also loves to sit up, play with toys, roll over to his tummy and cry and enjoys playing with his big sister. At his last appointment he weighted 18 lbs 3 oz, 26.5 in long, and his head was 45.5 cm in diameter. His sleeping is....well.....getting better. He was waking up several times at night but once he turned 6 months I decided that just had to stop! So we brought Kate's bed into our room and put Dylan to bed in his crib in their room. When he wakes up at night we let him cry it out until he falls back to sleep. The first time he cried for 45 minutes, now he cries for maybe 15 minutes. Amazingly, for the most part I don't even hear it. And if I do I can easily fall back to sleep.

Conor and I are doing great too! I'm still working at the church part time. I am also leading a Beth Moore bible study on Saturday nights. The bible study just started this past Saturday and I think it's going to be AMAZING!! Conor is still working for Steve. He really enjoys his job over there and will hopefully find us a good house to buy! *fingers crossed on that one*

Yeah yeah.....it's been a while since I posted. Lots has happened so here's a quick summary.
Kate is getting big. She's almost 19 months now and I can't believe it. She is talking lots and very active. She likes to lead the way around the house even though she doesn't know where we're going. She also enjoys helping with the laundry and putting away dishes. She is also very creative. Kate Update!

Wow! It's been awhile since I've updated-sorry!!
We had Kelsy take Kate's one year pictures and she did an AMAZING JOB!!! You can't really tell in the pictures but it was pretty windy and Kate wasn't all that cooperative.

Kate is 14 months old and walks everywhere-no running yet thank goodness!!! She is drinking milk now and eats pretty much everything we do. She loves to play with her toys and also enjoys the Baby Einsteine movies. She loves going to Grandma D's house and to Nana house on the days I work. If she had her way she'd stay at their houses all day long. She has a mouthful of teeth and says Mama, DaDa, Dog, dat, jack, oe(zoey), oy(toy), oh wow, oh yeah, and whas dat.

Kate's Stanford Apt & a Fresno Trip

So we went down to Stanford to meet with Dr. Lawrence Rinskey, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. Eureka Ped's sent us down there because the x-ray and ultrasound we had done on her hip came back with a slight problem. There was more depth in her right hip joint than in her left hip joint. Our appointment was last Friday morning. We left Thursday afternoon and stayed in Palo Alto at a motel about 8 minutes from the clinic. Here is a picture of Kate and Daddy hanging out in the room Thursday Night:

Kate slept pretty well and woke up bright and early at 7:30 am. So we decided to get up and start getting ready. Here's a picture of Kate hanging out in her pack n' play as we got our stuff ready to go:

After we'd loaded all our stuff in the car we decided to head to Starbucks to get some coffee, go fill up the gas tank and get some sandwiches since our appointment was at 11:00 am. Here's a picture of Kate and Conor after we picked up our sandwiches:

We got to the clinic right before 11:00 and checked in. We waited a LOOOONNNNGGG time, 1.5 hrs to be exact. Here's a picture of Kate and Conor hanging out in the clinic waiting room and waiting in our room for the Dr:

Once we were taken back to our room a nurse chatted with us then in came a resident and she looked over Kate's hips. She said she'd also looked over the x-rays and did not think that Dr. Rinskey was going to do anything right now. Dr Rinskey then came in and did in fact say there is no need to do anything. He said that when children are born with hip dysplacia they are thrilled to set their hip the way Kate's is set right now. He wants us to come back in 6 months for a follow-up x-ray.

After the appointment we then drove south to Gilroy so that I could go shopping at the Carters Outlet in Gilroy. I got tons of cute clothes for Kate to wear in the summer. Then we drove east to Fresno to spend Friday night and Saturday with Conor's Aunt Julie and Uncle Jim and their three kids; Joe, Megan and Samantha. Kate had fun hanging out with their dog, Frosty, too!

So apparently, unbeknownst to me (and everyone else in the world), it's Marchstash month. Hmm....can you guess what that means??!!! lol Yup, Conor has a mustache. Yuck!!!

So the guys next door decided that March was going to be Marchstash. All the guys have been growing a mustache since the beginning of March. Well, as most of you know Conor has more than a mustache. So instead he decided to work his way backwards to the mustache. Since our anniversary was this month I told him he COULD NOT do anything to his facial hair until after the 15th. Well sure enough after our anniversary he started working towards just a mustache. Here's the progression pictures.

So I am now on a creative team for Scrappin Digi Kreations. For those of you who don't know what that is I'll explain. :)
As a member of the SDK Kreative Team I get to create 6 layouts per month from 3 designer kits that I get to pick myself. So I get to play with kits that cost $$ for free!! I love it. It's so much fun.
So far this month I've done 3 layouts.

Credits: Cherished Moments by LorieM Designs. I love this kit. The colors are perfect for boys and girls and really any special occasion.

Credits: Aged to Perfection paper pack & element pack by Herald. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this kit because I knew exactly what I'd use it for. This kit has TONS of elements in it. It's a great kit for those autumn layouts and is perfect for treasuring heritage pictures too.

Katelyn Update

So Katelyn is 8 months and growing way too fast. She's 17 lbs 5 oz, up only 3 oz from her appointment in January. The pediatrician is not worried at all though. We took her to get her hips x-rayed a few weeks ago. At Eureka Ped's it's standard procedure to x-ray the hips of breached babies. The xray showed a slight problem with the right side of her hip so we went in and had an ultrasound done on it. The ultrasound tech told us he didn't see anything that was of real concern but that a radiologist will be looking it over also. When I got home last night there was a message from pediatricians office asking me to call back so they can discuss the ultrasound with me so I'll update after I talk to them.
Katelyn has a goopie eye right now. She's on eye drops but the poor baby has pink around here eye and has nasty green eye boogers. Hopefully the drops will kick in soon.

5 Years Today...

was one of the best days of my life. Conor and I got married. It was the most amazing day and I will never forget it.
So much has happened in these past 5 years. Conor graduated Humboldt State University; I traveled to London & Nigeria, Africa; Conor and I went to Cleveland and visited the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; we had Katelyn; we've moved 4 times; Conor got rid of the Nova and got the truck; my grandma passed away; and Michael Jackson is MY creapy! lol (that's for you Adam!)

So here's a page I scrapped today. It's one of my favorites. :)

That's the best word to describe how I feel right now.

Dani, Cammy and I ran the Foggy Bottoms Milk Run & Walk yesterday. We ran the 4.1 mile. Well I ran/walked it. Dani was a good motivator throughout the race though. 4.1 miles is a long ways dang it. I didn't realize that....lol.

So, I have to tell you all something really funny that happened a few nights ago and I'm going to try my best to explain it. Me, my sister, Conor and Adam were watching Kris play Wii fitness. He was picking which character he wanted to be and Michael Jackson's Wii character flashed on the screen. Conor, Jennie, and Adam all said, "Michael Jackson is so creepy" and for whatever reason the following came out of my mouth "Michael Jackson is MY creepy". Um....what?!?!?!?!?! I really have no idea why I said that except maybe my mommy brain??!!

I'm a little irritated at google right now. I'm having major problems uploading the last 5 pages of QOTC to show you all. And for some reason this post is not saving....guess I'm move it to word for now.

Well I'll blog about something else for now. I have a good internet friend named Hillary. She has the cutest little boys, Max and Owen. Owen is about a week older than Katelyn. We are both members of a message board on Ivillage. We met through the board and now chat on a pretty regular basis on Yahoo Messenger. Through our chats I've discovered that we are scarily alike. It's really almost freaky. She loves Cherry Coke like I do, although right now I drink Coke Zero because I’m trying to lose weight. I have introduced her to the world of digital scrapbooking. She also scraps the ‘old fashioned way’ but I’m hoping to convince her to change, hehe. She hates drama, just like I do. There was major drama on our message board this past week and we both ranted back and forth as to how dumb the drama is and how people just need to get over it. I won't bore you with the details because it was so D-U-M-B. Dare I even say our husbands have a bit of alikeness too. Her husband plays piano and my husband started out playing piano but now plays bass & guitar. Anyways, Hil thanks for being my friend! :)

Hmm….what to blog about next??!! Maybe I should blog about Misty!!! lol Misty, let me just say that you are soooooooo lucky I can’t remember why I was going to blog about you. It would have been juicy…lol

BUSY BUSY BUSY!!!!

First of all let me say that I PROMISE I won't go that long with out blogging again. It's been a but busy around here and in all honesty I can't even tell you what I've been busy doing. The last weekend in Feburary my scrapbooking frined, Rachel, and I participated in a challenge on the GDS site called Queen of the Crop. Basically 2 designers give away 2 kits for participating in themed challenges. There are 10 different challenges total.
The first one was Kids Say The Darndest Things. We were suppose to scrap something funny our kids have said. Well we all know Kate doesn't talk so I scrapped something funny that Jennie said as we were kids:
The next one was to scrap your child goofing off. Well Kate doesn't really 'goof off' but she does like to play with her toys:
The next one was to be 'my masterpiece'. Well my masterpiece, the event I've waited my whole life for was the birth of my daughter Kate. Here's that page:

Katelyn has started waving bye-bye. It is soooo cute. She waves her arm and opens and closes her hand. I love it everytime I see it.

I've decided that I'm never running with Dani again. Yesterday we decided to take a run with the babies and the jogging strollers. Let me tell you I have never breathed so hard IN MY LIFE. In a positive note, after researching how far we went I think we ran about 2 miles which is INCREDIBLE!!! Only need to get up to 4 miles by March 9th and I'll be ready to run the Foggy Bottoms Run.

Man, I was productive today!!

I had a very productive day today. I scrapbooked 6 pages!!!! I don't want them clogging up my blog so I made a slide show of them.

It was pretty easy to do so many pages since 5 of them were the same template. I still have about 15 more pages to make before Kate's 1st scrapbook will be complete.

Other than scrapbook I really didn't do much today. Kate and I stayed home from church because it was rainy and windy and I didn't want to leave the comfort of my house. Jennie made cookies today and I've already had 4 of them....how am I suppose to lose weight around here??? First was cupcakes and now it's cookies...what's next, fudge??!!!!

Kate is still working through her second tooth. She's been quite fussy today and wanting mommy. She still gets on all 4's, with mommy's help, but she does not know what to do from there. She has rocked a few times so we'll see!

Conor spent most of the day recording. He is in a band called Hey Eleanore. He plays bass and they are recording a new CD.

That's about it for today. Ohhh I must say that I watched the Oscars and I have no idea why "No Country for Old Men" won soooo many awards. I watched like 20 minutes of that movie and stopped because it was soooo boring.

Another tooth!

Katelyn had another tooth pop through yesterday morning. You'd never know except that yesterday she was smiling and I saw another white spot in her gums. She's such a little trooper. Besides being a little cranky, she shows no signs.

I was able to scrapbook a few more pages. I love the first one.

I've been trying to go in date order but I participated in a digital scrapbooking challenge on a digital scrapbooking board and this picture worked perfect for it.

I like this page too. I can't believe she was ever that tiny!

Lastly I made one more page. This was for another challenge on the digitital scrapbooking board. I love how it turned out. By the way I'm not really a Keith Sweat fan but I love the words-I think they work perfectly.

Internet Issues and Scrapbook Pages

I finally got MY Internet back today. Our DSL modem died on Monday afternoon so I had to wait for AT&T to ship me a new one. Luckily our neighbors, whom we are good friends with, have a very strong wireless Internet signal that I was able to tap into. However it is not very reliable. Every time the wind blows or a car drives down the driveway I lose the signal. Talk about frustrating!!!

Kate did another FIRST yesterday. I got her up on all fours and she stayed there for a good 2 minutes. She liked it at first but then she got a little frustrated that she couldn't do anything. I think she knew that if she moved one of her arms her balance would be off and she'd crash to the floor. Here's a picture of her on all fours....I'm so proud!

I managed to get one page done this past few days. One you say??? Only one???? Well it may as well be THREE!!! I had to redo this one page 3 different times because my computer kept freaking out. You'd think after losing it 2 times I would have learned my lesson but I didn't. Let me tell you, I've finally learned it! lol So here's the page that took 2 days to make:

Finally ran a mile!

Before I had Katelyn I could run a nice 2 miles and feel great. After she was born I could barely run 1/4 mile without being out of breath. Jennie and I had been running in the morning .7 mile for about a week. I was doing great. Then I got sick. :( I was sick for about a week and was unable to run at all. I thought for sure my 'training' had gone down the drain. Well today I went on a run and I was planning on running the same course we always do. Once I got to the last street I had 2 options, go straight through one more block and be home or head left and go away from my house to add an additional .3 mile to my run. Well I went left. I was able to run all but 2 blocks of my entire run. I feel so great about it. I hope to get out again tomorrow if weather permits.

I've lost another 2 lbs. YAY! I have not really been dieting but more watching what I eat. I try and eat fruits and veggies and watch my portions. It's really helped me. It is also motiviation that my good friend Dani has lost like 10 lbs in 3 wks and had a baby 2 months after I did. Thanks Dani for the motiviation!! :)

I was very lazy today. I didn't go to bed last night until 2:00 am because I was next door at the neighbors watching some friends play Dr. Mario. Gosh that brought back some memories.......

Anyways, I made 2 pages today for Katelyn's scrapbook. I'm not all that excited about the first one but I LOVE the 2nd one. I think the colors really compliment the black and white pictures.

Katelyn is doing well. I think she is teeting this evening. She's been fussy and cranky but it's nothing a little tylenol can't fix! :)

Well I'm off to continue scrapbooking....see ya'll later.

I decided to start a blog in hopes of keeping family and friends informed on what's going on in our life. I hope you enjoy it and come back often.

My recent hobby is digitial scrapbooking. I love it and am more creative digitally. I love that if/when I create a page and I don't like the end result I can just delete it with out ruining any pictures of supplies.

Katelyn is 7 months now and I can't believe how fast it has flown. So many people 'warned' me that it would fly by and I did not believe them. I thought for sure they were exagerating. Well, they were not! It's amazing that in 5 months Katelyn will be 1 year old.

Conor is doing well also. He's enjoying his job at Strombeck Properties. He also enjoy's Katelyn. He is an amazing dad to Katelyn and she lights up when he walks in a room.

Well that's about it for now. I'll post some scrapbook pages and recent pictures soon!
